Richard Lake: Six hours and 40 minutes after they got the case, the jurors came back in.
None talked. They sat down. Most looked straight ahead, at no one.
One woman, juror No. 7, who had nodded and shook her head and moved around in her chair a lot all week, appeared to nod again, this time toward Jackson Mayor Frank Melton.
It was 7:16 p.m. Thursday.
