Just wanted to make quick mention of Gene Weingarten's collection, The Fiddler in the Subway, which I just finished. Anybody else read this?
I hadn't seen most of what's in there, and I put it down with a bunch of lessons.
He's asking the engine question in almost every piece in the first section of the story. What follows is his search to answer the question. The stories are complex (because those engine questions spawn others, and those spawn others) but the structure is incredibly simple.
