Ben Montgomery showed us another side of Black Reign today. The story was the most-read on Tampabay.com, the Web site of the St. Petersburg Times. I'm not sure how many of the readers got it. Their comments seemed to fall mostly into two categories:
1. Ha ha ha. He's trying to be all hard and really he's soft.
2. This article is garbage. Why was it in the newspaper?
You can judge for yourself. But I'm convinced Ben didn't set out to embarrass anyone or capitalize on the sensational. What I got from this story was a rare and sensitive peek at a man who, despite the loud talk, is really very ordinary.
