Benjamin Young Montgomery, named after his great great great great grandpa, who shed blood in the Civil War and met his end in 1934, at the age of 89, in a motor car on the outskirts of Siloam Springs, Ark., was born last night at 9:20 in Tampa, Fla.
He weighs damn near 10 pounds and measures a tad shorter than a keyboard, but he's still a tiny little guy. His skin feels like old Nerf. His cry is wet, like the last gasp of bathwater, and his eyes are curious. When he frees his arms from the swaddle, he seems to type on his mother's breast.
He joins his sisters Asher and Mo, who can't wait to paint his toes.
His parents feel blessed and loved, and deeply grateful, and they are proud to give him debut.
